A young driver surcharge is a fee payable by all drivers under the age of 25 and covers the cost of the increased insurance required. The surcharge varies considerably across rental companies. The exact cost can be found in the terms and conditions attached to the booking. Costs are also contained in the Optional Extras table which is available to view when vehicle availability screen is shown. Costs vary from 10-30 GBP plus tax per day
